Senior Assessment Officer


Requirements of the role

We are looking for a Senior Assessment Officers to join the Contact and Assessment Team (CAT) at the BSB on an 18-month Fixed Term Contact.  CAT is primarily responsible for assessing initial reports about barristers and dealing with general enquiries that come into the BSB.

 

The Senior Assessment Officer will line manage an Assessment Officer in CAT. The role is expected to deal with more complex cases and provide casework advice and support to the other members of the team. The Senior Assessment Officer will also support the Head of CAT in their functions and contribute to monitoring key performance indicators and operational targets.

 

The successful candidates will be legally qualified and entitled to hold a practising certificate as a solicitor, barrister or CILEx in England and Wales. They will have a good understanding of the legal system in England and Wales. A background in either family, criminal or employment law would be desirable. The post holder will have demonstrable experience in managing a high-volume caseload.
