Data Architect

We have an opportunity for a Data Architect to join our Data Strategy Team within Sector Performance.

The Operational Performance and Data Strategy team within the directorate is integral to Ofwat’s vision and strategy for the sector, leading on the data strategy and on providing high quality insights into sector and company performance. The Data Strategy team seeks to shape how data is used through the delivery of the data strategy, providing teams with practical solutions that result in efficiencies, enhanced visibility & access to data as well as effective decision making & insights. They also lead on the development of a new data platform.

This role will also require close collaboration with our IT team. IT play an essential role at Ofwat, providing reliable, secure and resilient services, enabling our people to work anywhere and supporting innovation using technology to transform our work.​​​​​​​​ The vision for IT is to be a driving force behind innovation, leveraging cutting-edge technology to enhance our regulatory capabilities and deliver exceptional service to our stakeholders

The Role

We are seeking an experienced Data Architect to join our expanding Data Strategy team as part of our plans to upgrade and modernise our data platform through our dedicated programme – Programme Ocean.

As part of the Ocean project team you will work alongside colleagues from the IT team and the Data Strategy team.

This is a great opportunity to work with leading cloud technology and help change the way data is used in the public sector. We have embarked on an ambitious data modernisation programme using modern and evolving technology, to maximise the value of data and insights to Ofwat.

The successful candidate will also work alongside our Head of Data Engineering and support recently appointed Data Engineers to build efficient and automated solutions and processes.
