Requirements of the role

The Thematic Engagement Team forms part of the Thematic Risk Team at the SRA, who are responsible for undertaking a wide range of thematic projects and investigating issues within specific sectors of the legal profession. Some of these projects can be high profile and have a significant impact. The Thematic Engagement Team engages with the regulated population constructively and proactively.


The Role

As the Lead Thematic Engagement Officer, you will be essential in ensuring regulatory compliance within the legal profession by providing high quality support services to conduct various regulatory and compliance exercise. You will lead efforts to recommend disciplinary actions on appeal and review matters based on rules and guidance. You will be required to draft comprehensive adjudication reports and provide expert guidance to team members on regulatory rules.

Your role will involve conducting quality reviews and preparing reports and documentation, managing stakeholder inquiries and correspondence, and maintaining effective communication with solicitors. You will evaluate evidence from firms to determine appropriate regulatory responses and assist with reporting on compliance issues.

Training will be provided to allow you to interpret and apply our regulatory rules.
