Requirements of the role

We are currently recruiting for a Project Support Officer to join our central PMO in a varied and exciting role at the Regulator of Social Housing (RSH).

In this role you will assist with the delivery of programmes and projects, working with teams throughout the organisation and helping to deliver change where it’s needed.  You will also play an important role in supporting the work of the PMO to proactively promote the centre of excellence and help embed the programme and project management framework into everyday practices.

Job Description:

The Project Support Officer reports to the Project Manager and is responsible for assisting with the delivery of programmes and projects to support the work of the operational and corporate teams in delivering the regulator’s statutory objectives.   They will also be expected to support in procurement related activities.

Alongside this, you will also be involved in promoting and supporting the PMO, which is a real opportunity for someone to work with the rest of the Programme and Project Team to develop ideas to promote and embed the function.

The role is principally responsible for providing administrative and project management support on varied programmes and projects, including the development and ongoing management of the programme management office with the Head of Programmes and Projects.   The role will also work with other programme and project managers in order to collate and analyse information on project reporting and forecasting, managing risk and issues, resources and project interdependencies in order to produce reports for Executive and Senior Management.


As the successful candidate, you should have an understanding of the full-project lifecycle, with the ability to co-ordinate and plan a range of simultaneous tasks or project activities.  You should have experience of facilitating workshops to support project activity, as well as of servicing meetings, including taking meetings and maintaining action logs.  You will also have excellent planning, organisation and communication skills, with the ability to build effective working relationships. Previous procurement support experience would be desirable.
