About the FCA

The FCA regulates the conduct of 45,000 firms in the UK to ensure our financial markets are honest, fair and competitive. Follow this link to find out more About the FCA.

As part of the Data, Technology & Innovation (DTI) Division, we are leading the FCA in harnessing the power of data and advanced analytics to transform financial regulation.

In Intelligence and Digital, a subdivision of DTI, we believe in doing things differently. We are committed to growing the maturity and impact of user-centred ways of working as we design and deliver products and services for FCA staff, firms and consumers nationally.

It is an exciting time to join our growing DTI community of user-centred design (UCD) specialists, help shape and deliver the building blocks for excellence and deliver impactful work in our exemplar programmes.

We believe in collaboration, inclusivity, innovation and using data to be at our best. We place emphasis on curiosity and experimentation. We collaborate widely with other regulators, academics, innovative companies, and within the FCA.

What will you be doing?
As a Senior Associate Content Designer at the FCA you will work within a specialist user-centred design (UCD) team to help increase the maturity of UCD across the organisation.

You will provide expert content design support to emerging multi-disciplinary digital product teams to design new products and services that help our users achieve their goals.

  • Design user-focused content that simplifies complex language and processes
  • Prioritise accessibility and inclusion to create products for diverse users
  • Advocate for the value of content design and support less experienced designers in doing the same
  • Make content decisions that improve engagement, increase usage, reduce dropouts, and enhance data quality
  • Use and contribute to the FCA Design System’s style guides and content patterns, encouraging others to follow suit
  • Actively participate in the FCA content community, mentor junior content designers, and foster stakeholder relationships – you may be a line manager to 1 or more content designers as the team grows
