UKRN responds to Government on how regulation can support economic growth

In December 2024, the Prime Minister, Chancellor and Secretary of State for Business and Trade, wrote to UK regulators, a number of whom are members of the UK Regulators’ Network (UKRN), with a focus on fostering growth and increasing investment across the UK. This letter highlighted the importance of a forward-thinking approach to ensure that the regulatory environment supports both innovation and sustainable progress.

In addition to the letters sent by our individual members (now published as part of the Prime Minister’s correspondence with the House of Commons Liaison Committee), the UKRN also provided a response, providing an overview of the work of UKRN and our members, highlighting examples of how our members are collaborating in the growth space – both with each other and with external stakeholders, including central government.

We are pleased to have played a role in shaping this conversation through our continued involvement in the growth agenda and supporting a dialogue between government and our members in this area.
