We’re looking for someone to join the Asset Management & Funds Department within the FCA’s Buyside Supervision Directorate. This exciting role offers you the opportunity to engage and influence change at firms across the sector. You will be exposed to strategic issues and key players in financial services. Joining the department offers a key insight into a dynamic and critically important sector, at a time of rapid and fundamental change.

What will you be doing?

This is a dynamic role focused on supervising smaller firms in the long tail of the asset management sector, being responsible for responding to events in an agile and assertive manner.

You will be part of a diverse team responsible for the supervision of firms that can impact and influence households and businesses across the UK.

You will be responsible for understanding how the strategies, business models or operations of asset management firms could cause harm to consumers

Lead the design and implementation of supervision strategies to create real change in firms in the best interests of consumers

You will lead senior interactions, communicating clearly and succinctly, influencing their conduct and shaping key decisions through application of sound judgement

Leading reactive work in response to firm issues and industry developments

Working collaboratively and building strong relationships with internal stakeholders such as Authorisations and Enforcement, as well as external parties such as other regulators

Contributing to the wider department, including making recommendations for continuous improvement of our processes and identification of sector-wide risks and issues
