Requirements of the role
As Manager of the CCT, you will lead a team of specialists responsible for addressing unfair or unclear contract terms through a combination of legal expertise, regulatory insight and stakeholder engagement. You will provide direction across the team’s casework, projects and policy activities, working with internal and external stakeholders to deliver our statutory objectives and support key FCA priorities, including Consumer Duty and the review of Claims Management practices.
Role responsibilities
- Manage, support and develop a team of contract law specialists, creating an inclusive environment where people can thrive, collaborate and deliver shared success
- Shape a positive team culture that promotes wellbeing, continuous learning and high-quality outcomes for consumers
- Oversee complex referrals and casework, helping secure fair treatment and redress for consumers where appropriate
- Carry out proactive projects that identify and reduce risks arising from unfair or unclear contract terms, improving outcomes across financial services
- Lead policy development and maintain regulatory guidance under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 and Unfair Terms in Consumer Contracts Regulations 1999, helping to shape standards across the sector
- Build good relationships with internal and external stakeholders to support consumer protection, help guide FCA priorities and help improve outcomes for millions of consumers across the UK
