Requirements of the role
We’re looking for an accredited Financial Investigator with significant experience in providing proactive support to ongoing criminal investigations, including the identification of and ultimately, confiscation using the full range of powers set out in the Proceeds of Crime Act 2002 (POCA).
Primarily you will investigate allegations of fraud and money laundering but will also provide support to the enforcement team’s wider portfolio of investigations by providing technical guidance and assistance on all matters of Financial Investigation.
Responsibilities
You will:
- lead, manage and support financial investigations for the Enforcement Team including:
- formulating financial investigatory strategies
- obtaining financial accounts, bank statements and other financial evidence using Pensions Act(s) and POCA powers and conducting analysis of those documents
- risk assessing intelligence provided to TPR and disseminating appropriately
- deputise for the Financial Investigation Unit Lead as the point of contact for external partners including FISS, JARD and POCC/NCA as required
- respond in a timely fashion to financial enquiries from external agencies
- support the Financial Investigation Unit Lead and wider Investigations team in other enforcement activities including Inspections, suspect and witness interviews and warrants away from the office as required
