Webinar: Exploring the role of regulation post Brexit, 1st December 2022
Partnering with the Whitehall & Industry Group (WIG), this event looks to discuss the UK’s exit from the EU, lauded as a unique opportunity to reform and innovate how we regulate. To deliver on this potential one of the key items of Queen Elizabeth’s speech in May 2022, was the ‘Brexit Freedoms Bill’ which will grant new powers for ministers to overhaul laws retained post transition. This is therefore a crucial juncture to explore the role that regulation can play in an independent UK.
We warmly welcome our expert cross-sector panel exploring the nature of post-Brexit regulation, and how it can support other key priorities highlighted across Queen Elizabeth’s speech such as the levelling-up agenda, economic recovery, and international trade:
- Prof. Christopher Hodges, Chair, Regulatory Horizons Council;
- Andrew Williams-Fry, Member, Regulatory Policy Committee, BEIS and Partner, DT Economics;
- Prof. Suzanne Rab, English Barrister, International Mediator and Regulatory Policy Adviser.
