In SPC, we oversee firms and individuals (supervision), create and review the rules by which they operate (policy) and identify and remedy ineffective competition in markets (competition).
The Retail Banking Directorate oversees supervision and policy for retail banking and mortgages, ensuring markets remain fair, competitive, and innovative while prioritising the interests of consumers and SMEs.
We are currently recruiting for two roles – one on a 12-month fixed-term contract and one on a permanent basis.
Role responsibilities: 
- Responsible for preparing agendas, coordinating briefings, attending and managing meeting documents and actions, and overseeing inbox management by monitoring emails and following up on required actions
- Delivering high-quality support to Managers across two teams within Retail Banking and the teams within the department, to ensure smooth and efficient operations, while building a strong network with senior management and diverse internal and external stakeholders to broaden your influence
- Maintaining and updating records in the FCA system to ensure regulatory compliance and data accuracy, while developing strong knowledge of various FCA systems
- Contribute to two high-profile and fast-paced teams that play a significant role in the FCA’s operations, engagement, and reputation, while working collaboratively within a supportive environment to achieve shared goals and drive continuous improvement
- Exhibits flexibility and a proactive, team-oriented approach to effectively manage competing priorities and deadlines, ensuring smooth operations within a high-pressure, professional office environment
- Provide comprehensive support for the organisation and delivery of internal and external meetings and events, ensuring effective coordination and accurate record of key issues
- Prepare documents and provide guidance to colleagues, while offering flexible support across the team, including covering responsibilities for the Head of Department’s PA and other PBS when required
