Requirements of the role
We are looking for an experienced strategic Communications Manager to join the newly formed Planning, Programmes and Engagement Department within the Bar Standards Board. The postholder will lead our communications and public engagement efforts. This role is key in shaping how we communicate to the public, media, and to our staff. Working with a range of internal and external stakeholders, ensuring our messages are clear, engaging and effective.
Key responsibilities the postholder will undertake:
- Lead and manage a team to deliver high-quality internal and external communications activities
- Develop, implement and monitor the BSB’s communications and engagement strategy
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, ensuring effective collaboration and engagement
- Manage the media relations function, delivering clear messages while responding promptly to journalist queries.
- Develop and execute an internal communications strategy to keep employees informed and engaged
- Ensure the BSB’s website and publications are user-friendly, visually appealing, and effectively communicate key information.
