The Financial Conduct Authority is a key part of the regulatory structure in financial services, together with the Prudential Regulation Authority and the Bank of England. We work to make financial markets work well for consumers of financial services.
This role is in the Competition Directorate (CD) in which you would be responsible for the FCA’s CD mandate. Much of our work is focused on ensuring markets are working well for consumers.
What will you be doing?
- Leading complex projects ensuring projects are well scoped, managed and resourced ensuring project outcomes meet the FCA’s objectives
- Developing the technical capacity and capabilities of the economics team whilst keeping your own technical knowledge updated
- Providing expert advice to senior stakeholders, delivering support and intellectual leadership to economist colleagues
- Reporting to executive committee on live projects to provide regular updates and provide direction where applicable
- Line managing, supporting and developing economist colleagues
- Actively contributing and collaborating with the directorate, taking responsibility for management initiatives
