Requirements of the role
We have an opportunity for a Finance Business Partner to join our Finance Team within Corporate Enablers Directorate.
We are Ofwat, the Water Services Regulation Authority, a non-ministerial government department responsible for regulating the water sector in England and Wales.

Job description
The Role
We have an opening for an experienced Finance Business Partner to join our Finance Team. In this role, you will support Ofwat budget managers with their expenditure, ensuring they are effectively planning and forecasting to accurately monitor their budget. You will be playing a key role in providing analysis and reporting to inform successful decision making.
The finance team are responsible for budget setting and the government estimates process; month end and year end closedown; monthly forecasting, analysis and reporting to the business; production of the Annual Report & Accounts; engagement with internal and external auditors; purchase ledger; sales ledger; staff expenses; VAT; government data returns; maintenance of the Oracle finance system
Key deliverables:
Reporting to the Head of Finance Business Partnering, you will be responsible for:
Month end preparation and closedown
Budget forecasting, analysis, and reporting
Establishing and maintaining strong relationships with budget manager and other stakeholders
Supporting budget managers with financial processes including purchasing activity
Budget setting for new financial years
Allocation of new funding and supporting budget managers with mobilising spending plans
Year-end completion, including accruals, audit preparation
Liaising with internal and external auditors
Development and delivery of finance training for the business
Reporting development
Continuous improvement of processes
Ad hoc reporting such as FOI requests
