The Information Disclosure Team (IDT), based within the Operations Division, is responsible for a variety of high profile and public facing work, including compliance with the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA), UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and other areas of information-based activity, such as compliance with the Environmental Information Regulations and the Re-use of Public Sector Information Regulations.

The team’s role is crucial to the success of the relationship between the FCA, the public and the regulated community. As a public body the FCA is subject to Disclosure legislation. If we get things wrong in this area we could face damage to reputation, risk of fines from the Information Regulator (ICO), foster lack of confidence and diminish the FCAs authority to regulate, if cannot meet regulatory information requirements.

What will you be doing?

Process and release information under the Freedom of Information Act
Assist with development and maintenance of the network of contacts across FCA business areas
Produce high quality oral and written communications to key stakeholders and to members of the public
Keep abreast of developments in the field of information access, receiving training and disseminating information as appropriate and monitor relevant regulatory developments and notify the business of changing requirements
Contribute to training and awareness delivery to key stakeholders across FCA business areas
You’ll support the IDT and Executive Casework by flexibly responding to shifting priorities. This includes taking on a variety of tasks such as processing Subject Access Requests and managing FOIA Appeals, depending on the needs of the team
