Lead Risk Advisor

Requirements of the role

We are looking for a talented and experienced risk professional who is willing to learn quickly and engage openly, to join the FCA’s Risk & Compliance Oversight Division (R&CO) – the second line of defence.

This is a pivotal role that supports the business in identifying, assessing, and managing risks across two critical areas: Finance & Corporate Services and the Change Directorate.

You will act as a trusted advisor to senior stakeholders, providing expert guidance on risk management practices, embedding a strong risk culture, and ensuring that risk is considered in all key decisions.

What will you be doing?

Partnering with the business on all aspects of risk management including inputting into committee papers and risk reports with clear opinions on key skills
Collaborating with R&CO and the wider FCA, to drive continuous improvement to enhance the control environment
Promoting the Risk Management Framework and System
Being the primary face of R&CO representing the division on key changes initiatives as well as working with R&CO colleagues to provide support, advice and opinions on the change portfolio
Developing and maintaining collaborative and constructive working relationships with stakeholders across the FCA at various levels
