Operational Resilience Associate

Financial Conduct Authority

Regulating financial services firms and financial markets in the UK, https://www.fca.org.uk/careers

Requirements of the role

The FCA regulates the conduct of 45,000 firms in the UK to ensure our financial markets are honest, fair and competitive. Follow this link to find out more About the FCA.

You will support the development and implementation of the FCA’s Operational Resilience framework, partnering with Important Business (IB) Service and divisional Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to implement the framework, developing and maintaining robust resilience plans across the organisation.

Operational Resilience is a strategic priority for the FCA due to several drivers including the volume of change and transformation being undertaken, resilience responsibilities under Senior Manager Regime (SMR) and the increased threat profile and market responsibility. This role is key to supporting establishment of an embedded ‘Operational Resilience by Design’ ethos across the FCA in business practices to reduce the risk of disruption and ultimately reduce the risk of harm to consumers and markets.

What will you be doing?

Act as a point of contact and resilience SME for the business and functions, providing resilience and continuity advice to deliver the operational resilience framework

Partner with business and function colleagues supporting the resilience agenda, including contingency, planning champions and SMEs

Support maintenance of IB Services, creating and maintaining process and dependency maps and tolerance statements for each service

Support identification and documentation of any vulnerabilities or risks that may need to be resolved to ensure continued operational resilience

Conduct resilience due diligence assurance on third parties supporting important business services and key processes across the organisation, providing a view of risks to resilience to appropriate forums
