Requirements of the role
Ofgem is Great Britain’s independent energy regulator. Join us in this Policy Advisor role producing robust analysis to make evidence-based recommendations on technical policy areas to decision makers. We operate a Flexible Resourcing model where you will have the opportunity to work across Ofgem supporting on a range of projects or may have a longer deployment within a team where you have and build specialist skills, knowledge, and expertise. Job description
To join us, you’ll need experience thinking strategically, be able to cut across different perspectives and objectives occasionally in tension to achieve goals. A track record of working with multiple stakeholders across different workstreams will be key, alongside excellent communication skills (in writing and in person) and a keen analytical eye.
It’s important that you are comfortable working in a change environment, and that you can flex and adapt to conflicting deadlines and bring a can-do mindset to working through problems. You’ll also need Demonstrative experience in managing multiple workstreams and multiple stakeholders, excellent written and verbal communication skills along with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Key Responsibilities and Outputs
Policy Development
Responsible for high-quality, timely, and robust analysis of core issue(s) and policy options resulting in evidence-based recommendations.
Drafting of clear and concise documents, including briefings, policy documents, consultations, impact assessments, guidance, decision letters and stakeholder correspondence.
Supporting and directing key workstreams and projects, including responsibility for internal and external stakeholder engagement by prioritising, scoping and delivering work.
