Principal Analyst – Asset Risk

Ofgem

The energy regulator for Great Britain, https://www.ofgem.gov.uk/about-us/working-ofgem

Requirements of the role

Ofgem is Great Britain’s independent energy regulator. Our primary responsibility is to protect energy consumers, especially the most vulnerable, while at the same time working with government, industry and consumer groups to deliver a clean, more affordable and secure net-zero energy system at the lowest cost to consumers, and drive economic growth.

As we embark on a deeper and faster transformation of our energy system, we need to ensure that the electricity and gas networks play a full role, whilst ensuring that we protect consumers by making sure they benefit from a low-cost energy system. This role will play a key part of that process, ensuring Ofgem’s regulation of the energy networks helps to support both Clean Power 2030 and Net Zero 2050 targets.

More specifically, the role will develop our Asset Risk Management policies which help us to quantify the benefit to consumers of the network companies’ asset management activities. Developing these policies will ensure that networks remain safe and resilient in the midst of an enormous amount of network investment to support net zero and ensure companies are held to high quality asset stewardship.
