Requirements of the role

We are currently looking for a Regulatory Support Officer to join us at the Regulator of Social Housing.

With a career at RSH you’ll be joining an organisation that gives you the opportunity to make a difference to people’s lives, regulating a sector that houses 4 million people across England.

Working as part of our Regulatory Engagement Directorate, you will support the delivery of effective regulation of landlords as we make sure they are well run and financially viable. Our regulation continues to drive social landlords to deliver improvements in the safety and quality of homes and engage with tenants in the delivery of services.

The role:

As the Regulatory Support Officer (RSO), you will lead on the co-ordination and support for delivery of regulatory work. This will span across the different programmes of analysis, engagement and inspections our frontline regulators deliver.

You will also carry out review and analysis to capture themes and learning, feeding into continuous improvement of our processes and ways of working. Some aspects of the work may involve engaging with landlords and other stakeholders to support our assurance gathering, following up on referrals and undertaking less complex casework. You will assist in the programming, coordination and delivery of the directorate’s programme of regulatory inspections and responsive work.

The RSO is an integral part of ensuring our regulatory work is delivered in an effective, efficient and timely way that aligns with corporate objectives and values. You will also have an opportunity to gain experience, skills and knowledge in how we regulate landlords to deliver our purpose, driving them to improve outcomes to tenants.
