Requirements of the role
We regulate financial services firms in the UK, to keep financial markets fair, thriving and effective. By joining us, you’ll play a key part in protecting consumers, driving economic growth, and shaping the future of UK finance services.
SPC oversees firms and individuals (supervision), creates and reviews the rules by which they operate (policy) and identifies and remedies ineffective competition in markets (competition). The International Division coordinates our strategy for international engagement, working collaboratively across the FCA to ensure the organization delivers on its international priorities.
Role responsibilities
- Helping shape and prioritise International Division’s strategic engagement and approach with authorities in the United States, Canada and the wider Americas
- Maintaining key relationships with counterparts in the USA and the Americas, government bodies and secondees
- Developing, delivering and supporting creative strategy and engagement plans on priority topics, working closely with colleagues across the FCA to ensure a coordinated and considered approach
- Advising and supporting FCA Executive Directors and the Senior Leadership Team in their engagements with key international partners, including in relation to overseas visits
- Analysing key policy and political developments across jurisdictions, shaping global policy and providing advice on the opportunities and challenges arising for the FCA
- Advise on risks and opportunities for the FCA
- Contribute to coordinated international strategy
- Operate effectively in a changing policy environment
