Senior Strategy Advisor (Decarbonisation and Electrification)

Ofgem

The energy regulator for Great Britain, https://www.ofgem.gov.uk/about-us/working-ofgem

Requirements of the role

We’re offering a permanent opportunity within our Future Infrastructure and Resilience Strategy team to shape our long-term approach to energy system transformation, influence major regulatory and energy system decisions, help identify emerging priorities and shape how the organisation responds to some of the biggest challenges facing the sector.

This is a real chance to be part of something great at a pivotal point. You’ll be at the heart of our plans and what we are trying to achieve, and will be enabled to make a positive difference in a role where you will see real results. You’ll tackle the big questions whilst broadening your expertise and experience, and building a portfolio in the energy sector to be proud of.

Job description

You’ll be a strong strategic thinker with the ability to problem solve and analyse at the highest levels, framing and addressing complex problems and developing impactful recommendations for decision-makers. Alongside your excellent communication and influencing skills, you’ll be able to explain the complex in a way that all can understand.
A proactive mindset, strong judgement and the ability to work independently whilst contributing positively to a high-performing team will all be essential.

In return, you’ll have the opportunity to contribute to some of the most strategically important work taking place across the energy sector today, applying your expertise to projects that will help shape the future direction of the UK energy system. You’ll join a collaborative and supportive environment where new ideas, strategic thinking and professional development are actively encouraged.

We have a critical purpose to help shape a low-cost, resilient and future-ready energy system that supports the UK’s transition to Net Zero. Join us and help influence the strategic thinking that will support that mission.
