About the FCA
The FCA regulates the conduct of 45,000 firms in the UK to ensure our financial markets are honest, fair and competitive. Follow this link to find out more About the FCA.
The team sits in the Redress & Reporting Policy Department within CCPS. Redress plays a critical role by owning and advising across the FCA on the policy requirements which ensure that firms put things right for financial services consumers when things go wrong, whether that’s making a complaint or claiming compensation in the event a firm fails owing redress liabilities. As part of this role the team owns the FCA’s relationship with the FOS and FSCS. It is also responsible for Claims Management Company sector policy.
Our key pieces of work at the moment include: delivering on the commitment to modernise the redress framework following the call for input announced by the Chancellor last November, the preparations of a possible consumer redress scheme and related interventions to manage a possible large scale redress event arising from motor finance, and the delivery of a comprehensive revamped complaints reporting system to improve the quality of data we receive from firms.
