Schemes
In addition to networks, UKRN also operates schemes, which are open to applications from UKRN member staff.
Next Generation NEDs
Overview
Our Next Generation Non-Executive Director (NED) scheme aims to build a diverse pipeline of people who could become future NEDs in the public or third sector.
We aim to achieve this through networking opportunities, shared learning and guest speakers (shared both through our LinkedIn group and our Community of Interest), as well as a year-long placement programme, which offers the opportunity for staff to join a participating member panel, committee or board.
If you would like to know more about any element of the Next Gen NED scheme, including the Community of Interest and 12-month placement programme, please e-mail NGN_UKRN@caa.co.uk

Young Professionals
Overview
The UKRN Young Professionals Network is an engaging and supportive network run by and targeted at early career professionals, with members coming from graduate programmes, apprenticeships or in the early stages of their career at a regulator, with a desire to network and develop both professionally and personally.
The group is self-governed, with the aim of facilitating the sharing of information and ideas, discussions on shared topics of interest, and supporting career development by providing access to advice and relevant opportunities.
Representatives were appointed for a two-year term in late 2024, so applications will open for the next cohort towards the end of 2026.
