UKRN and Office of the Public Guardian Guide provides more information about issues like powers of attorney and guardianship orders
The Office of the Public Guardian (OPG) and UKRN have worked together to refresh the guide titled “Supporting customers who may not be able to make their own decisions.”
The guide has been written and updated by the OPG in partnership with UKRN, Ofcom, Ofwat, and the Financial Conduct Authority.
The guide aims to provide partners in financial services and utility companies with clear and consistent information to support staff when working with customers who may lack capacity.
It includes updated information on:
• Lasting Powers of Attorney (LPAs)
• Enduring Powers of Attorney (EPAs)
• Deputyship Orders
• The “View an LPA” service
It also includes a new chapter on:
• Guardianship Court Orders
